I started at Walkers Transport on a temporary contract back in 2016 and was taken on permanently as an assistant accountant in January 2017.

Part of my role is producing the weekly and monthly accounts; however, I am heavily involved with analysing customer portfolios when tendering for new and existing work. By virtue of the business’s needs, it is a very commercial role.

I am also involved in improving the processes across the business through automation and supporting with the development and implementation of the customer services portal.

The energy within our finance team is fantastic. We have a very open mentality instilled into us by our financial director and group financial controller, which means everyone knows that no suggestion is wrong; the floor is always open for new ideas and new ways of working, which I believe is extremely valuable and will help push the team forward to achieve great things collaboratively for Walkers.
