Lead Forensics

We aim to do things differently.

Here at Walkers we aim to do things differently. Our corporate social responsibility initiatives drive a sense of community amongst our ever-expanding workforce.

To continually evolve our approach, we categorise our CSR initiatives into three key areas, allowing us to focus on the achievement of goals which feed into our business objectives and mission.

Our People

We provide more than just a place of work. To be a Walkers employee is to be part of a journey of growth, as well as what we believe to be a community of talented and ambitious people. We’ve evolved a Can Do. ethos which has since become a prominent part of the Walkers brand.

We recognise employee achievements and loyalty with our annual awards ceremony, as well as with treats throughout the year such as our annual Summer BBQ.

Safety first is no.1 on our Can Do. rule and we believe employee wellbeing to be a key part of this. All our employees have access to a company-wide healthcare scheme for both themselves and their dependants – just one of the ways we like to say thank you.

Environmental

Walkers believe that every organisation has a responsibility to the environment and is committed to establishing environmental management as a corporate priority. Working towards the principle of sustainable development our companies to limit our impact on the environment through initiatives such as strict recycling and the promotion of energy efficient vehicles.

Community

As a responsible business we consider ourselves an integral part of the communities in which we operate. Part of this responsibility sees us, where possible, encourage a positive impact on and facilitating local initiatives.

In 2017 Walkers raised over £5000 for both local and national charities with the charity partners of 2018 being Macmillan Cancer research and Alzheimer’s Society – as chosen by our employees.

We get involved in local community events such the Ossett May Day celebrations and team club sponsorship as with our 2018 collaboration with Morley Junior Rugby Club. Members of our team are active in the community too, volunteering to support students in local schools and universities, such as Leeds Beckett University’s Women in Leadership programme and developing Summer internships for those rising stars.

In addition, we seek to recruit from within local areas and actively promote the business as an employer of choice through our apprenticeship schemes and training programmes.
