At Walkers we understand that all our customers’ needs are unique to them. We offer all our new customers a FREE transport health check to ensure our service options reflect both yours and your customer’s needs. Our local account managers will oversee the commercials of your account as you grow and develop.
A full and comprehensive range
Because we understand that one size doesn’t fit all, we offer a full and comprehensive range of pallet sizes to suit your individual needs.
From full to half, quarter to our newly launched mini quarter pallet, you can make the right choice for your goods, as well as that which is the most cost effective for your business.
The maximum weight suitable for tail-lift pallets is 1000kg
What happens if my consignment is not suitable for transit?
It is your responsibility to ensure the pallet is packaged in the correct manner. If your goods are not suitable for transit, then we will advise you on the best way to rectify this. Please be aware if your pallet needs re-processing there is a £25 fee.
As much as we would like to help you un-package and install whatever is on your pallet, unfortunately we are restricted to dropping your consignment in a safe place at ground level.
What are the standard hours of delivery for the UK?
We offer next day and economy delivery in most locations between the hours of 8am – 9pm, Monday to Friday.
Can I book an AM service anywhere in the UK?
Our network has the best coverage in the UK – we aim to offer am timed deliveries where possible. In the event that you are unable to select the service you require, then please contact our expert customer service team who will work with you to find a solution.
Improved processes at Amazon have allowed Walkers and all other Palletways depots exclusive access to their booking function. Give your dedicated customer service agent a call, and they will liaise with Amazon on your behalf.
What happens if I don’t specify a specific vehicle suitable for the delivery point?
When booking your consignments online, be sure to let us know of any special delivery instructions. This will eliminate any delivery challenges such as poor access, which would result in a re-delivery charge.
What happens if my goods are refused at the delivery point?
Our dedicated customer service team will notify you immediately if your consignment is refused at a given delivery point. We will then agree with yourselves the next steps.
We understand that many areas in inner cities are restricted access only… but don’t worry, we will still deliver! However, Walkers ask for your consent by giving us ‘parking permission’. By granting this you agree to full responsibility for any fines incurred during the process.
Consignment intelligence inclusive of ETA’s and POD’s is accessible from the online portal. If you are not familiar with this platform, then our expert customer service team are on hand to help.
How long will a driver wait at the delivery point?
We will aim to be as accommodating as possible, however as you can imagine our drivers have multiple delivery drops in a day – resulting in our maximum wait time at any delivery point being 15 minutes.
What happens if my consignment gets lost in transit?
All goods are tracked and traceable. In the unlikely event that your consignment gets lost in transit, we will conduct a ‘national search’ to locate your and get your consignment back on track.
What happens if my consignment gets damaged and I need to make a claim?
We process near to 25,000 pallets per day and whilst it is rare, damages do occur. Simply make our customer service team aware and we will promptly resolve any issues.
Yes. As standard, we offer insurance of £1300 per tonne. However, if your freight needs greater coverage, don’t hesitate to get in touch for an increased value insurance package bespoke to your needs.
This is a financial penalty incurred by the customer in the event that your consignment was undelivered due to unforeseen circumstances. Please note that Walkers Transport are not liable for this cost as per the RHA T&C’s.
As we’re specialists in palletised distribution, all goods handled by Walkers Transport must be placed on a pallet. So, to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of your product(s) please follow the below guidelines.
